I have an active iTunes subscription to HBO Max. Today, I was signed out and Apple TV is no longer listed as a provider under HBO Max. Clicking “Restore Purchase” tells me “Can’t Verify Your Subscription - Sorry, we couldn’t find a subscription for you in iTunes”. I checked my subscriptions and I can see I have a renewing subscription to “HBO on Apple TV”, it is currently active through August 15.
Any idea what is going on?

HBO has decided to no longer integrate with Apple TV subscriptions. https://appleinsider.com/articles/21/07/22/apple-refunding-hbo-subscribers-offers-hbo-max-discount
Not sure if that is the reason in your situation.

- Max subsciption problemIs anyone else having issues signing into their Max subscription that was purchased through Apple? I purchased the yearly subscription and have 9 months left, but when I try to sign in or to restore my account, I get the notification that I don’t have an active subscription. Not sure if this is an Apple or Max problem. This is since the new change from HBO to Max. I installed the new app and it finds my account, but not my active subscription.I tried signing out, deleting the app, resetting my password, none worked. It’s happening on all my devices, phone, iPad and Apple TV. 22931

- SHOWTIME Subscription through Apple TV+I subscribe to Showtime and Paramount+ through AppleTV. Normally I watch Showtime shows through the Apple TV app. Today it asked me to download the Showtime app. I didn’t think much of it since Paramount+ also exists on my AppleTV but I browse shows through the AppleTV app. Showtime keeps asking me to sign in. Obviously don’t have a sign in. I try to restore a purchase, it says no purchases found in iTunes purchase history. This just started today. Anyone else experience a problem. Might just be time to get separate subscriptions. Hulu always have a good deal and everything played through there well. 16854

Hello mongo_mango,
We see that you're experiencing some problems accessing your subscription and are happy to advise.
What device are you attempting to access this subscription through? Have you installed the corresponding app for HBO Max on that device and signed in? Are you able to access the content in this way? This will be necessary in order to access this subscription on your devices.
Cheers!

weak, apple.
Try reading the news before trashing Apple. HBO pulled out of the deal as of 7/22/2021. Apple will be issuing refunds to those with subscriptions. You will now have to subscribe directly to HBO MAX via the HBO MAX app if you wish to continue using it. If you want to throw mud at somebody throw it at HBO. They did this, not Apple. And HBO has not offered an explanation as to why they decided to pull out of the iTunes integration deal, they just did it.
But I assume we’ll not hear another word from you, will we.

This exactly what I’m seeing too.
Took up the subscription offer from HBO after the Apple TV tie-in ended.
Followed instructions exactly as per the email HBO sent out.
Now have the HBO subscription but the app won’t find it.

Literally subscribed to HBO Max through the app 10 minutes before I posted this. Why is Apple still selling something three days after it got shut down?

FYI, as of today, Paramount+ and Showtime are also pulling out of the deal. Seems they want ALL the income from subscribers by requiring them to subscribe through their apps, not a bundle from Apple.
